Welcome to the Home Page of Southampton Model Aeroplane Club

Southampton Model Aeroplane Club (SMAC) was formed in 1932, so may be the oldest aeromodelling club in the area. Follow the sidebar menu to learn more of the club history. Over the years the club has indulged in free, round the pole and control line flying although its principal activity is now radio controlled flying.
Club members fly principally at two sites; Beaulieu (all types of flying models) and the Lordshill Outdoor Recreational Centre (gliders and electrically powered models only). Neither site is for the exclusive use of SMAC members.
Located in the middle of the New Forest on the South coast of England, the Beaulieu flying site is amongst the most picturesque in the country. In contrast, the Lordshill site is a recreation area in a built up area on the outskirts of Southampton with easy access from local motorways.
Anyone interested is welcome to come along and talk to other members at the field.
